Ashley Zair
LMSW- CLINICAL
I received my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, following my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Concordia University, Ann Arbor. With over a decade of experience, I have been dedicated to supporting adolescents and adults since 2008.
At my private practice, Zair Counseling Center, my primary goal is establishing a solid therapeutic alliance with each client, fostering an environment of comfort and acceptance. I utilize evidence-based interventions to develop coping mechanisms, facilitate the processing of emotions and thoughts, and empower individuals toward growth.
My areas of expertise encompass anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, and depression.
Services provided include individual therapy tailored for adolescents and adults, couples/marital counseling, and group therapy sessions. I am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), enhancing my ability to offer comprehensive support.
Also, I served as a clinical social worker and partner at Tender Heart East, Inc., where I specialize in working with the elderly population. I aim to foster connection and well-being among aging individuals through group therapy utilizing therapeutic arts and crafts.

I have developed a strength-based approach. I aim to provide a safe and comforting environment for my clients to grow in. In serving a wide array of populations, from families, adolescents, adults, and Veterans, I’ve found the value in uniquely lived experiences.
I believe each person has a distinct set of skills that can assist them in overcoming life’s stressors, obstacles, or personal needs.
Through utilizing strengths one already has in teaching new coping skills, I work with each of my clients to formulate an individualized plan that will aid in living life to its fullest potential. Whether it be relationship issues, grief, trauma, life changes, depression, anxiety, or another specific mental health diagnosis, I hope to work in an alliance to improve the overall quality of life.
I am skilled in various modalities such as mindfulness, breathing exercises, talk therapies, movement therapy, etc., and take pride in offering interventions that best suit each individual.

My clients are the experts. I’m here to help them draw from the skills they already possess.
I work with late adolescents, adults, and couples.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Michigan State University and a Master of Social Work from Wayne State University. I am also proud to be a Certified Case Manager.
